Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 also known professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to sign to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the internet, including her self released single Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her create Rihanna references. The 8th of December was the day she announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two songs alongside her labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was also released on September 5th. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles, titled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album of the same title. It was released with a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in one week. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
