Anushka was chosen by Wendell Rodricks as the final model for his Les Vamps Show, which took place at Lakme Fashion Week in 2017. Anushka's modelling career began at Lakme Fashion Week in 2017. Since then, she has been involved in numerous campaigns, which include campaigns with Fiat Palio & Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka took an acting class before beginning to audition for film roles alongside her modeling career. Anushka Sharma's first acting role was in the 2008 movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She took one day to get ready for her screen test and was unable to do an impromptu version. Later, she signed up for three films together with Yash Raj Films. In the movie she played the role of a young bride to a middle-aged male (the part Shah Rukh Khan was playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka Sharma starred in the movie 'Badmash Company that was released in 2010. The film included Shahid Kapoor as well as the actor Vir Das. The movie received mixed reviews. Anushka appeared alongside Ranveer in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat,' where she played an Punjabi middle-class girl who set up her own company. The film was an unexpected success and was praised by the critics. The contract of Anushka's for three films under Yash Raj Films was completed by Band Baaja Baaraat.
