Kim Delaney is an American actress best known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a household worker. She grew up in a home with four other brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter in childhood but started modelling while in high school eventually garnering commercials when she moved from New York. Her first appearance acting was as an innocent teenager in the soap opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has been in a variety of film and television dramas. Her professional career has been much more lucrative than her personal life. She is skilled and beautiful, has battled alcoholism prior to that. She has also had marriages that been unsuccessful two times. The year 2005 was the time she was denied custody of the sole child that she had.
